Second National Communications (2NC)

The Cook Islands is obligated to report regulary through National Communications to the UNFCCC on the status of its greenhouse gas emmissions, vulnerability to climate change impacts, and measures to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The Environment International Division has submitted the final version of the Project Proposal to UNDP for their consideration. It is expected that the project is likely to start by April 2006, leading to submission of the 2NC containing our Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Vulnerability & Adaptation Assessment to the UNFCCC at COP14 in 2008.

The Initial National Communications (1.7MB PDF at http://unfccc.int/resource/docs/natc/cisnc2.pdf ) was submitted to the UNFCCC COP5 in 1999.
